Among the leaves a large inflorescence forms, typically pink in colour, made up of bracts with the consistency of papyrus, and over a few weeks, many small pink or purple flowers bloom there. Grow these plants in a partially shady place, with a minimum temperature of not less than 10-12 į C, using containers that are not too big, filled with a soil consisting of small pieces of bark, moss and peat.
Tillandsias donít like to have too wet soil, so when you water them, avoid wetting the ground, but fill the cup which is formed between the leaves, from which the plant will draw all the moisture it needs. If grown in a very dry place periodically spray the whole plant with demineralized water. When the inflorescence dries out you can remove it; if the whole plant is also drying out, donít throw it away: very probably, you will find new little rosettes of leaves growing at the base of the rosette that is in the process of drying out.
