Orchids

CARE

Once you bought the small plants, keep them separated one from the other to be sure they do not have parasites or diseases. What you use to take care of your orchids, such as small gardening tools, should be kept away from other plants and used only when operating with orchids because these are very sensitive and delicate plants. Guess that, if you notice a cut on your plant you can put healing powder or solution, typically used for humans, just like you would do with your body. If the plant grows high, put a support stick to fix the stalk. Remember that some orchids can absorb nutrients from their aerial roots.

WATERING

orchids Orchids should be watered when the soil is completely dry and without the usage of tap water because it could either be too cold or too chalky. The ideal procedure would be to save rainwater filtering it to water the plants. Watering per se is not enough because orchids need to be nuked at least two to three times a week during the summer and twice a week during the winter. Remember though, to never spray the flowers otherwise they can get rotten.

Orchids: FERTILIZATION

There is a specific fertilizer for orchids, do not use a general purposes one. It should be used every fifteen days, spreading the powder or the solution once the watering procedure is done in order to preserve the roots. Fertilization has to be performed while the plant is “alive”; in fact, there is a rest period the orchids go through at the end of the summer when they drop their leaves.
